Stores and warehouses

Your shop is organised in two levels:

  • A store is a branch of your business, for example "Olaya branch" or "Jeddah mall kiosk".
  • A warehouse is a stock location that belongs to a store: the shop floor of a branch, a back store room, or a central warehouse that supplies several branches.

Employees are assigned to stores and warehouses, and they can only sell from the locations they are assigned to. Every new shop starts with "Central Store" and "Central Warehouse"; rename them to match your business.

Your plan's limits

The Store and Warehouses pages show how much of your plan you use, for example "2 / 3 stores used". When you reach the limit, the create button disappears and the page says "You have extend your limit". To add more, upgrade your plan in Settings › Subscription & billing; see Your subscription and billing. Lifetime accounts show "Lifetime plan: no limit".

Open Store in the sidebar. The list shows each store's name and email, Phone, Address, number of Warehouses and Status.

Add a warehouse

  1. Choose New warehouse.

  2. Fill in:

    FieldNotes
    Warehouse nameRequired.
    Phone numberRequired.
    Email addressOptional.
StoreThe store it belongs to. Required. Only active stores are listed.

A warehouse that already has sales cannot be edited any more; the form says "This warehouse already has sales and cannot be edited".

Example: a supermarket with two branches creates the stores "North branch" and "South branch". Each gets a warehouse for its shop floor with Is branch set to Yes, and the North branch also gets "Main store room" with Is branch set to No, from which stock is transferred to both branches.

Switch features on per warehouse

Some add-ons are sold per warehouse. When your plan includes them, the shop owner sees a switch column for each in the warehouse list:

ColumnWhat it switches on for that warehouse
Loyalty programLoyalty points for sales there.
KDSThe kitchen display. See Kitchen display.
StockInventory for that warehouse. See Stock on hand and the stock ledger.

Click a switch to turn it on or off; the change is saved at once. The number of warehouses you can switch on is set by your plan. Only the shop owner sees and uses these switches.

Example: a restaurant group whose plan includes kitchen display for 2 warehouses switches KDS on for its two busiest branches.

Blend branch

Shops that use the Blend integration see a Blend branch button on each warehouse, where you enter the Blend branch ID that links the warehouse to its Blend branch.

Who works where

Assign employees to stores and warehouses when you create them in Users & Permissions › Employees, and move them later with Users & Permissions › Staff transfer. See Users and permissions.
