Subscription plans and add-ons
What a shop can do on your platform depends on two things: its plan (price, period and limits) and its add-ons (the modules it can use). You design plans in Subscriptions and decide which add-ons you sell in Add-ons.
Add-ons
An add-on is a product area that you switch on per shop or include in a plan. Open Add-ons to see the catalog. Each card shows:
- The add-on's name and key, for example Point of sale (
POS), Inventory (INVENTORY), Purchasing (PURCHASING), Accounting, ZATCA e-invoicing phase 2 (ZATCA_PHASE2) and Approval center (APPROVALS). - Offered or Not offered.
- On for every shop for add-ons every shop gets by default (POS).
- Needs followed by the add-ons it depends on.
- Old name when the add-on used a different key in earlier versions.
- Sold by chips: the quantities this add-on is sold by (see Add-on quantities).
- The add-on's features, such as Kitchen display within POS, with what each feature needs.
The add-ons themselves are part of the product; you cannot create new ones here. What you control is the Offered switch:
- Offered on: you can grant the add-on to shops and include it in plans.
- Offered off: it can no longer be newly granted or added to plans. Shops that already have it keep it.
Turn an add-on off, for example, while you are not ready to support Purchasing yet, so nobody can sell it by mistake.
Plans
Open Subscriptions. The Plans tab lists every plan with its Price, Billing period, Limits (stores, users, products) and Status.
Create a plan
- Choose Create plan.
- Fill in the fields below and choose Save plan.
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Plan title | The name shop owners see, for example "Café Monthly". |
| Package ID | A number identifying the package (required). |
| Price | Price per billing period, before tax. The platform tax rate from Payments › Billing settings is added on top. |
| Currency | Three-letter code, for example SAR or USD. Note that PayPal does not accept some currencies (SAR, AED, INR and others); see Online payments. |
| Recurring period | DAILY, WEEKLY, MONTHLY or YEARLY. |
| Billing cycles | How many periods one payment buys. 3 with MONTHLY means one payment covers three months. |
| Shop type | RETAIL, HOSPITALITY or PHARMACY. Shop owners only see plans for their own shop type. |
| Store limit | How many stores (branches) the shop may have. |
| User limit | How many users (staff accounts) the shop may have. |
| Product limit | How many products the shop may have. |
| Free trial days | 0 to 365. See Free plans and trials. |
| Description | Shown to owners on their billing page. |
| Plan active | Inactive plans are not offered. |
Limits are checked again whenever the plan is given to a shop. A shop that already uses more stores, users or products than a plan allows cannot buy that plan.
Add-ons in a plan
Add-ons are set on an existing plan: save the plan first, then open it again. Under Add-ons in this plan, choose which add-ons and features the plan includes, and the quantity for each add-on limit.
A shop gets the plan's add-ons while its subscription to the plan is paid and has not expired. When you change a plan's add-ons, every shop currently on that plan gets the change at once.
Example: a "Restaurant Pro" plan for HOSPITALITY shops includes POS with the Kitchen display feature, Inventory, and 2 warehouses with kitchen display.
Free plans and trials
When a new shop signs up, it starts on the active plan with price 0 for its shop type. If there is no free plan, it starts on the cheapest active plan that has Free trial days, for that many days, and pays online when the trial ends. If the owner pays for the same plan during the trial, the paid period starts when the trial ends, so no trial days are lost.
A fresh installation comes with two free Trial plans of 5 days: one for hospitality (5 users) and one for retail (1 user). Change or deactivate them to match your offer.
Add-on quantities
Some add-ons are sold by quantity:
| Add-on | Quantity |
|---|---|
| POS | Warehouses with kitchen display |
| POS | Warehouses with loyalty points |
| POS | Employees with order printing |
| POS | Employees with self-service |
| POS | Employees with the waiter app |
| POS | Viewer accounts |
| Inventory | Warehouses with inventory |
A plan sets a value for each. A new subscription to the plan starts with those values; extending a subscription keeps its own values. You can still change them for one shop's subscription (see below).
Shop owners see these quantities as places: for example the switches per warehouse on their Warehouses page, and the app access switches on an employee, show how many are in use. See Stores and warehouses and Users and permissions.
Shop subscriptions
The Shop subscriptions tab in Subscriptions lists the subscription history of every shop, with a filter by shop and a search. From here you can:
- Change a shop's subscription: put the shop on another plan. A shop has exactly one current subscription; the old one stays in the history.
- Extend a subscription: add time to the current subscription, keeping its history and its own limits.
- Change the limits of one subscription: for example give a supermarket two extra users without creating a new plan. The new limits are checked against what the shop already uses.
Assigning or extending a subscription takes effect at once in the shop's portal.
Note: Changing a subscription here does not charge the shop. Online payments happen only when the owner pays from their billing page. See Platform payments and invoices.
