The super-admin console

The super-admin console is where you run the platform itself: the shops that use it, the plans they pay for, the add-ons they can have, online payments, translations and your license. Shop owners and their staff never see it; they work in the shop portal and on the POS.

This page gives you the lay of the land. Each area has its own page, linked below.

Who can use the console

There are two platform roles:

RoleWhat they can do
Super administratorEverything: create shops, change plans, switch add-ons on and off, configure payment gateways, edit translations, activate the license.
Super administrator viewerBrowse the whole console, read-only. Create buttons and edit controls are hidden, and the server refuses any change a viewer tries to make.

Use a viewer account for someone who needs to look but not touch, for example an accountant who checks invoices or a support colleague who answers shop owners' questions.

The first super administrator is created by the setup wizard when the platform is installed. See Setup wizard.

Note: Platform accounts and shop accounts are separate. A super administrator cannot open the shop portal or the POS, and a shop owner cannot open the console.

Signing in

Open the address of your installation and sign in with the email and password of your platform account. The console opens on its main pages.

At the top of the sign-in screen and in the console you can switch the language (English, Bangla or Arabic, plus any other active language) and the light or dark theme. Arabic switches the whole layout to right-to-left.

How the pieces fit together

A typical platform runs like this:

  1. You create one or more plans in Subscriptions, for example "Café Monthly" for restaurants and "Retail Yearly" for shops, each with a price, limits (stores, users, products) and the add-ons it includes.
  2. You switch on at least one payment gateway in Payments so shop owners can pay online.
  3. A shop owner signs up on the public sign-up page (see Shop sign-up and first login), starts on a free or trial plan, and later pays for a plan from Settings › Subscription & billing in their portal.
  4. Every payment creates an invoice you can see in Payments › Invoices, and renews the shop's subscription.
  5. When you need to, you step in for a single shop from Shops: give a café the Kitchen display add-on for a two-week trial, suspend an add-on, or mark a partner's shop as a lifetime account.

You can also create a shop yourself from Shops instead of waiting for the owner to sign up, for example when you onboard a customer over the phone.

When the console is locked

If this installation has no valid license, or you open it on a domain the license is not for, the console shows only Platform & license until you activate your purchase code. Shops, tills and kitchen screens keep working meanwhile: a license problem never stops a shop from selling. See Platform, license and server status and License.

Demo data on test servers

On a test server where the operator has switched demo data on, every shop in Shops gets a Demo data button. It fills that shop with add-ons, branches, staff, a large catalogue and test sales, which is useful for load tests and demonstrations. The button never appears on a normal production installation.
