Dashboard
The Dashboard is the first page shop users see after signing in. It gives a quick picture of how the business is doing: sales and returns, purchases, the flow of money in and out, and how customers pay.
Choose the period and stores
At the top of the dashboard, choose the period:
- daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, or
- a date range of your own.
If you have more than one store, use the store filter to show one or several stores. With no store chosen, the dashboard covers all the stores you can see.
What the dashboard shows
| Part | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Sales summary | Sales against returns for the period. Returns (credit notes) count as negative sales. |
| Purchase summary | Purchases against purchase returns. Only posted purchases count; drafts and voided purchases are left out. |
| Sale and purchase flow | A chart of sales and purchases over the period, to compare what came in with what went out. |
| Payment method split | How the period's sales were paid: cash, Mada, Visa and any other payment method you added. |
Every sale made at the till appears on the dashboard straight away, together with the sales history imported from a previous system. A new payment method, such as STC Pay or bank transfer, appears in the payment split as soon as it is used.
Example
A coffee shop owner opens the dashboard on Monday morning and chooses the weekly view. The sales summary shows last week's takings and two refunds, the purchase summary shows the bean and milk deliveries posted that week, and the payment split shows that most customers paid by Mada. Choosing one of the two stores shows how the branch near the university compares.
Who sees the figures
The dashboard's figures need the dashboard analysis permission. Staff without it see a welcome view instead of the figures. Shop owners always see everything. See Users and permissions.
Need more detail?
The dashboard is a summary. For figures you can filter, sort, print and export (daily sales, VAT, sales by item, category or cashier, stock losses, cash sessions), open Reports.
