Print barcode labels

The Print barcode page prints labels for your product SKUs, for shelves or to stick on the goods, so the till can scan them. You can print on a normal printer (a sheet of labels) or on a label printer (one label per page).

Open Inventory Management › Warehouse Management › Print barcode.

Note: This page comes with the Inventory add-on. If you don't see it in the menu, ask your platform operator or check Your subscription and billing.

Before you print

Labels show the code of each SKU, so the SKUs should have barcodes. If yours don't yet, open the product and choose Auto generate SKU & barcode in its SKU table, or fill them in from Excel with Update SKUs. See Products and Import and export products.

  1. Choose a Layout:
    • Sheet (3 per row): labels in a grid of three across, for an ordinary A4 or Letter printer.
    • Single label (50 × 30 mm): one label per page, for a thermal label printer loaded with 50 × 30 mm labels.
  2. Choose what goes on each label with the Name and Price switches. The barcode itself is always printed.
  3. In the search box, type a product name, code, SKU or barcode. Pick the right row from the results. Each result shows the variant combination and unit, so you can tell Basic T-shirt · M - White · Piece from Basic T-shirt · L - Black · Piece.
  4. Set the Quantity of labels for each line with the − and + buttons or by typing (1 to 500 per line). Picking the same SKU again adds one more label.
  5. Remove a line with its delete button.
  6. Check the total number of labels next to the button, then choose Print. Your browser's print dialog opens.

If nothing is picked yet, the page says "Please select a product".

What is on a label

PricePrice is onThe selling price of that SKU with your currency. In VAT shops it is the price with tax, marked incl. VAT.

Labels are always printed as Code 128, which most scanners read. If a code contains characters Code 128 can't carry, the page shows "This value cannot be printed as a Code 128 barcode." Change that SKU's barcode and try again.

Example: labelling a new delivery

A mini-market receives 2 boxes of cola (24 cans) and 10 bags of rice.

  1. Layout Single label (50 × 30 mm), Name and Price on.
  2. Search cola, pick the Piece row, set the quantity to 24.
  3. Search rice, pick it, set the quantity to 10.
  4. Print: 34 labels come out of the label printer, each with the name, barcode and shelf price.

To label the boxes themselves, pick the cola's Box row as well: it has its own barcode and box price, and scanning it sells the whole box.
