Kitchen tickets on your existing thermal printers
The Print Agent is a small program that runs on one computer in the restaurant and prints Infotech POS kitchen and order tickets on network ESC/POS printers (port 9100). It needs Node.js 22 or later and installs nothing else.
Why a print agent
Browsers cannot send raw print jobs to a network printer. The agent keeps a single WebSocket open to your POS and prints each ticket the moment it is saved, so the kitchen gets its tickets without anyone pressing print.
Reliable by design
- One connection, no polling: the server pushes each ticket
- Tickets that waited while the agent was off are printed when it reconnects
- Failed tickets are retried and shown on the POS after 5 tries
- A ticket is never printed twice after a dropped connection
- Menu names are cleaned of control characters before printing
