Setup guide

The setup guide is a checklist at the top of your Dashboard that walks you through getting a new shop ready to sell: your shop details, VAT, products, staff, PINs, a printer and your first sale. Each step ticks itself as soon as you have done it anywhere in the back office, so you never have to mark anything by hand.

Only the shop owner sees the guide. Staff never see it.

Where to find it

Sign in as the owner and open Dashboard. The card is called Get your shop ready. It shows:

  • A ring with how many steps are done, for example 3/7.
  • Next: and the name of the next step to do. When everything is done it says All done. You are ready to sell.
  • The list of steps. A done step shows a tick. A step still to do shows a short explanation and a Start button that opens the right page.

Use the arrow to collapse or expand the list.

The steps

Not every shop sees every step. The guide only lists what applies to your shop.

Steps marked Optional are nice to have. The Next: line always points at the first required step that is not done yet, and only moves on to optional steps when the required ones are finished.

Tip: You do not have to follow the order. Import your products first if that is easier; the guide notices and ticks the step.

Hide or bring back the guide

  • Choose the X (Hide the setup guide) to put it away.
  • While some steps are still open, a small Setup guide · 3/7 button stays on the dashboard. Choose it to show the full guide again.
  • When every step is done, the guide disappears by itself.

Good to know:

  • Nothing is stored for the steps themselves; the guide looks at your shop's data each time you open the dashboard. If you delete your only product, Add your products shows as not done again.
  • Start only appears when you are allowed to open that page. For the owner, that is every page your plan includes.
  • The guide also appears on a brand-new shop's dashboard before there are any sales figures to show.

Examples

A new grocery shop. The owner signs up and sees 0/6. She uploads the logo in General settings (step 1 ticks), turns VAT on and checks the 15% default tax in Taxes (step 2), imports 400 products from Excel (step 3), and rings up a test sale at the till (the last required step). The guide now shows only the optional staff and PIN steps; she hides it with X and comes back to it after hiring a cashier.

A café with printing. Because the shop type is a restaurant, the guide asks to Add your menu instead of products, and because the plan includes printing it adds Connect a printer. Once the kitchen printer is added in Kitchen setup, that step ticks itself.
