Install with Docker
-
Upload
pos-x.y.z-regular.zipto the server and extract it:sudo apt-get install -y unzip unzip pos-1.0.0-regular.zip -d /opt cd /opt/pos -
Run the installer. It checks Docker, asks for your domain and an email for the HTTPS certificate, writes
.envwith random secrets, builds and starts the containers:sudo ./install.sh # or unattended: sudo ./install.sh --domain pos.yourcompany.com --email you@yourcompany.com -
At the end it prints the setup address, e.g.
https://pos.yourcompany.com/setup?token=…. Open it in your browser.
What runs: postgres (database), api (Java), web (Caddy: the web app, HTTPS certificates from Let's Encrypt, and the API on the same address). Data lives in Docker volumes and survives restarts and updates.
Keep /opt/pos/.env safe and backed up: it holds the database password and the encryption key for payment gateway keys. Without it, saved gateway keys cannot be read.
